Is Paul Daugherty Right?

In a column in Tuesday's Cincinnati Enquirer, Paul Daugherty stated the following:

"Here is all that matters about Adam Dunn: The Reds can't afford him."

Is Paul Daugherty right?

i generally think paul daughtery is clueless about baseball. i consider him a "mitch albom" type sportswriter... it's only a coincidence that he writes about sports. he could be writing about anything, because he's a good writer. unfortunately, we now have to not only put up with his cluelessness in the enquirer, but he's also on the radio now.

of course the reds can afford dunn if they want to. they'll have money freed up from milton and loshe and conine next year and hopefully those players will be replaced with players who are making the minimum or something close to it (bailey, dumatrait, votto).

the real issue is that daugherty loves griffey, hates dunn. and as one of the beat writers once put it... "he's not in the clubhouse every day".

he's more out of touch with what is going on with the reds than half a dozen writers/reporters in this town.
